It’s only normal to expect that fake pictures begin appearing almost everywhere when something new is about to be
released. The same thing has happened with the new iPad 3 which is about to be released early next month. With hundreds of other pictures that have been released, a new image has also been leaked and according to reports, they are high-resolution “Retina” displays.
Though the reports have been claimed as such, there hasn’t been any confirmation of the claims. However, MacRumors has been able to obtain one of the above-mentioned displays and have actually examined it under a microscope to see if it’s an ultra-high resolution ‘Retina’ display or not. A recent report by Cult of Mac shows leaked images straight from the inside of the Apple iPad 3 supply chain. Upon investigation, the images show that the internals of the new refresh has significant changes when compared to both the first generation and second generation tablet.
Amongst the leaked images, is the rear case for the iPad 3 which is not yet branded with the new name; but further suggests that little has been done to modify the aesthetics and exterior of the device. With that said, do you feel that the overall design of the iPad is perfect anyway, and Apple shouldn’t fix something that isn’t broken?

A new report on the iPad 3 over at BGR shows how they have been supplied with and uncovered what appear to be legitimate images leaking details of the processor and other classified specs. An inside source has alleged that they have an iPad 3 prototype in their possession and through the use of iBoot, have uncovered two models of the new tablet as well as a conclusion that this tablet is going to be a multi-taskers dream.
iBoot is a tool used by developers and is able to look at strings of code. As we reported in the past, the code references the J1 and the J2, or the iPad 3,1 and the iPad 3,2. One of the greatest discoveries is that one of the two versions of the Apple iPad 3 will likely support 4G LTE. Further icing to the cake shows that

The Apple iPad recently celebrated its second birthday, and shortly the (3rd gen) iPad 3 will be in the hands of all those eagerly awaiting its unveiling and subsequent release. When the iPad was first introduced many thought it would fail miserably, and that it was just an over-sized smartphone, but they have since bit their tongue after the success the tablet has seen ever since it created an entirely new market.
The displays for the iPad 3 which are largely believed to be “retina displays” should be shipped as early as March from newly acquired business partner Sharp Electronics. In our recent report from 9to5mac, the iPad 3 processor is very likely to get 4-cores rather than the A5 dual-core in order to power the new capabilities and specs that Apple will be bringing to the tablet.

The iPad 3 could be seeing a quad-core A5 processor rather than the A6 if analysts are to be believed. With the recent unveiling of iBooks 2 and specifically iBooks textbooks for the Apple iPad, onlookers saw a more intuitive full-screen, rich media experience that involved interaction, graphs, and animations not to mention the rest that comes with this news.
After testing the iBooks 2 Textbook application on the iPad and iPad 2, developers are claiming that the iPad was a bit slow and sluggish, while the iPad 2 seemed to run it fine. Increased interactions and animations could prove to be a challenge for the iPad 2 as well however. This is where analysts believe the iPad 3 is going to need a more powerful processor, the upgraded A5 (A6 first seen in the iPhone 5?). to support the increased load, especially if it’s going to launch with the high resolution display everyone is counting on.

More information (rumor) is leaking out pointing to the iPad 3 release happening in March of 2012. Macotakara, which is a Japanese blog has recently reported that we’ll see the iPad 3 and iOS 5.1 put on display, or unveiled via an event if you will as early as the first couple weeks in February.
The news has reportedly come from two different insiders, one from the United States and the other from within Apple’s Asian supply chain which would obviously be close to preparation and planning behind the unveiling and then full-scale shipments on the tablets launch date.

We’ve been talking a lot about Siri on the iPad 3 lately, and with the release of iOS 5.1 beta 3 to developers it appears more evident that we could indeed see Siri on the tablet. The new beta code doesn’t provide very much insight into the future of Apple devices, but 9to5mac uncovered “something potentially major.”
The code shows Siri Dictation references, and upon shuffling around the new beta 3 settings application shows a completely new section in the keyboard menu labeled “About Privacy and Dictation.” This discovery was made on an iPad 2 and upon opening the menu command; it brings up a screen with legal jargon and feature information for Apple’s Siri Dictation.

We hear it all the time; Apple is going to have competition from this tablet, and then that one. Is the iPad 3 going to be brushing up against some real threats or is all of this just going to fall flat like past assumptions?
We wanted to take a minute and talk about what is going to differentiate the iPad 3 (spec-wise) from the iPad 2 and a possible pricing hierarchy that Apple is rumored to be looking at to fire back at all the end of the 2011 competition along with all of the upcoming tablets that will flood the market in 2012.
At this time the biggest improvement to the iPad 3 is expected to be in its display. The rumored display is going to be Apple’s patented Retina Display, running at a resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels which would be four times as powerful as the iPad 2. Bye bye up close and visible pixilation.

This latest iPad 3 rumor comes from China’s Economic Daily News, and suggests that the tablet could be released on February 24 to commemorate Steve Jobs, since this date is also his birthday. Suppliers are reportedly doing the best they can to ramp up production in an effort to have the tablet fully ready and in the quantities needed by Apple.
Inside sources are claiming that Apple is looking to meet demand with an initial supply of 4 million units, which is up from roughly 3.5M last year for the iPad 2. Will 4 million be enough, considering the heavy backorders for the iPad 2 on its release however?

As the iPad 3 travels through the pipe-line of component manufacturers, parts occasionally are leaked; and this time around it’s rumored to be a replacement microphone ribbon which would be inside the casing of the device.
Adding further fuel to the raging rumor fire, the leaked part/photo has a big overhaul to its design and shape, which could mean the inside of the iPad 3 is getting some new changes to accommodate additional technology, relocate a few things, or even change the exterior design of the case itself.

According to a recent report at Digitimes, the iPad 3 is just a few months away from gracing the tablet world. The proposed scaling back of iPad 2 production at the beginning of 2012 is a clear indication that the next-generation device is going to see a Q1 release.
The iPad 3 is expected to be released in the next 3 to 4 months while component makers in the supply chain are already delivering parts for the Apple iPad 3 to OEM contractors; said the inside sources.
“OEM production of iPad 2 will remain at 14-15 million units in the fourth quarter of 2011 but decline to 4-5 million units in the first quarter of 2012, paving the way for the launch of the new iPads.”

The iPad 3 was seen referenced by the identifier iPad 3,1 iPad 3,2 and iPad 3,3; yes that’s right – there are apparently three variations of the tablet in the pipeline. Apple may have a few different things up their sleeves as they continue to work with prototypes; however these three monikers are likely the final ones to be rolled out since they are embedded within the iOS 5.1 beta code.
This also may be a true indication that the next refresh will indeed be named the iPad 3 rather than the iPad 2S like previous rumors suggested. At this time the three different references are believed to be the Wi-Fi tablet, 3G, 4G, or even the possibility of getting a dual-mode iPad 3.
