Amazon Aims To Rival iPad 3 With New Tablet
“Hollywood” Kindle Tablet Set To Kill The iPad 3, Before Its Release Date
Apple is always facing fierce competition attempts, and this time it looks like it’s against the iPad 3 before it is even officially announced. Amazon is looking to rival the iPad 3 by releasing a tablet currently code-named: Hollywood.
Hollywood will be sporting a quad core processor and be based on the NVIDIA T30 Kal-El. Amazon hopes to kill the iPad 3, making it obsolete before it’s even released.
The Hollywood tablet will have a whopping 500% increase in performance over the dual core Tegra 2 platform that will be in a second release tablet known as the coyote.
The Coyote will be Amazon’s lesser of the two, or its entry tablet amongst the kindles. The coyote running the dual core processor will be similar in comparison to the specs of the iPad 2, which is currently on the market.
Does Amazon have what it takes to rival Apple and the iPad 3?
Rumors are already suggesting that the iPad 3 will boast a quad core A6 processor, and other drool worthy specs. If these rumors are true, then Amazon will not have an easy task competing against the market giant, Apple.
Our opinion is that it is going to take more than a big processor to be a contender against Apple’s tablet. The iPad is all about the user experience when it comes to the software, apps and overall quality in the design and functionality. Simply boosting tech specs will put Amazon in a tough spot when taking aim at the iPad 3.

You should be comparing it to the ipad 2 since that’s all Apple will have available when the Amazon Hollywood tablet goes on sale late summer – early fall. That’s 6 months before the ipad3 is even available. by then there will be better Android and Windows8 tablets.
The biggest advantage the Hollywood and Coyote Tablets from Amazon have is price. At $349 and $449 they are cheaper than the least expensive ipad model. Apples tablet marketshare is going to disapear just like their computer business did. It’s like deja vu all over again.
You say that the Hollywood tablet will need more than just fancy tech specs to beat the iPads fuzzy “user experience” and apps. Well on the apps front you fail to realize Amazon already has an Android app store, and as the largest online retailer has more than enough market share to develop it. The tablet wars are just starting.
