Apple To Open A Retail Store In Harrods London For iPad 3 Launch (RUMOR)
We heard last month that Apple was planning to open a retail store in London’s Harrods department store. The store is a landmark that contains many individual shops and sections within greater structure. There are many big brands located there which makes it a perfect spot for Apple to continue the string of “store-in-store” locations. We have news from the sources inside Harrods who inform that the plan will be implemented in Mid-March. Details below!
This news brings up speculation about the launch date for the iPad 3 which we expect to be March 7th. Apple has a trend of launching the new products within few weeks of introduction. The Harrods opening is likely to be between March 12 and 19. Typically, the fruit company launches key products such as the iPhone and iPad on Fridays. Mid – March Friday would be the 16th.

9to5mac is speculating that the opening of the Harrods store could be in conjunction with the launch of the iPad 3. The Harrods store sees 300,000 visitors on the busy days. This would be the idle place to have an iPad 3 launch day. However, the completely speculated March 16 launch date would pertain to UK only. The assumption that the iPad 3 launch in UK and USA would be simultaneously is a difficult one as iPad 2 was launched on different dates in those two countries.

Oh good!! London was lacking a place to buy an ipad for $2000 instead of the RRP of $1000. Got to love Harrods.
