iPad 3 Retina Display Examined By iFixit
We have already informed you about the 9.7-inch display claimed to be of the upcoming iPad and it has been confirmed that the display will offer 2 times more linear resolution and four times the number of pixels than the iPad 2. The display has been in the hands of the folks over at iFixit to examine the screen or even possibly power it. However, they were unable to hook the display to the guts of the iPad 2 directly. To map the pins of the two displays so that to jury-rig the display of the iPad 3 was a hard effort and they were not sure of success and had limited time. But they were able to confirm the findings that the 9.7 inch resolution display does offer four times the number of pixels than the previous iPads.

March 7th is the expected date for the launch of the iPad 3. You can read our previous posts on more rumors including an A5X chip, Retina displays to be made by Samsung, shell, bezel and the front glass.
You can check out iFixit’s new video overview of the iPad 3 display confirming the higher resolution, the tweaked retaining clips and the modified retaining links to the iPad 2 display from this link.
