We are gearing up for the launch of the iPad 3 as March 7th draws nearer. We have seen leaks and rumors of all kinds. Today, the news comes from Apple Daily. The website says to have received some information and photos regarding the next generation tablet through some “special channels”. The post shows a bird’s eye view of the rear of what is supposed to be the iPad 3. The image also consists of iPad and the iPad 2 for comparing with the upcoming tablet. Let’s see what the image has to offer. Read more after the slide!

If you look at the image, it has resemblance with the previously published images on the tablet case in the blogosphere. But one thing to note is the lighting has improved drastically which allows us to clearly make out the Apple logo and the camera enclosure on the top left.

If we compare it with the iPad 2, the image shows that the iPad 3 has a more gradual taper which is exaggerated and causes the camera to be embedded in it. The lens also appears to be larger which gives support to the rumors of an 8 megapixel camera. The expectations such as a Retina display, A6 quad-core processor and the announcement date have also been summarized by the source. With all the sources and rumors indicating the same date, there is a greater chance of the launch on the day. The date isn’t far away and we will keep you updated as we edge closer to March. Stay tuned!
