iPad 3 specs and the 2009 patent

It’s no secret that after the thunderbolt port continues to grow in popularity that users of the iPad 3 are going to want this feature tucked into their tablets.

Apple’s iPad fans have become increasingly outspoken about their request for a USB port at minimum amongst other specs like an SD card slot.

The Apple patent from 2009 reveals a hybrid USB 3.0/Display Port that has the web buzzing about its inclusion into the iPad 3 and the iPhone 5.  The 30 pin connector would be compatible with thunderbolt and USB 3.0 connectivity.

Sony 8MP camera and the iPad 3/iPhone 5 has the web buzzing

The CEO of Sony, Sir Howard Stringer, let some news out that he would be working with Apple to develop a vastly improved camera for their devices.

Our speculations here at ipad3newsblog held true about shortages of output coming from Japanese factories after last month’s devastating tsunami.

Stringer said that any manufacturer who sourced sensors or lenses from the affected factories in Japan could expect a delay.

Apple Patent Suggests “Spaces” technology for touch screen devices. (iPad 3)

Patently Apple has discovered a patent filed by Apple in 2009.  The patent suggests that the feature spaces which is currently used on Apple desktops, will be seen on the iPad 3.

Spaces allows users to have up to sixteen virtual desktops on one screen, with its default set at four.  Having the ability to move amongst screens while different programs are running on each greatly increases productivity.

Relating to our recent article about iPads in the workplace; this would be an excellent integration into the iPad 3 as iPads are continually adopted into the business world.

Businesses Are Seeing Increased Productivity With Tablets

News on the iPad 3 has been relatively quiet as of late.  Apple is still having difficulty supplying their stores with the iPad 2; struggling to keep them on shelves for longer than a couple of hours.

What about the iPad 3 and its future use in the business world? A recent survey showed that one in four companies are currently using, or planning to use tablet devices in the scope of their daily activities.  We’re willing to bet that a staggering majority are choosing Apple’s iPad.

iOS 5 To Be Announced & Then Released On The iPad 3 Come Fall?

It seems amongst recent reports that Apple will be delaying the release of iOS 5 until the fall.

Originally thought to be released on the iPhone 5 come summer; the only hope now is for Steve Jobs to do a demo of iOS5 when he unveils the iPhone 5.

iPad 3 Likely To Incorporate Samsungs New Retina Display

Samsung, who is trying to compete in the tablet market with the Samsung Galaxy, revealed plans to increase their pixel density to new; never before seen levels.

We were all hoping that the iPad 2 was going to include a higher retina display but as we mentioned in previous updates; it just didn’t pan out for many reasons behind the scenes.

What Will Be Powering The iPad 3

Since John Gruber, a respected Apple watcher and predictor re-affirmed rumors of a September 2011 release date for the iPad 3 (by making strong hints); we’ve been keeping you up to date with exactly what’s being speculated.

Gruber hinted that HP’s TouchPad is slated for a summer release which would put them well behind the iPad 2 launch, and that they may even be competing with the release of the iPad 3!  Competing isn’t the likely term to use we feel since the HP TouchPad would be collecting dust on the shelves if it were to have a similar release date. Apple’s Peculiar Actions Are Generating Questions And Fueling Rumors

We’d like to focus on some actions that Apple has done recently that have us questioning their plans overall, and for the recent iPad 3 rumors.  Although they are habitual in nature with the expected iPad 2 release in March (spring) they did throw many people off with the unveiling of the Verizon iPhone.

Whether or not Apple leaves out key components that the fans will want with each successive generation in order to keep product hype and sales by the millions can only be speculated.  Could they have implemented all the elements within the first iPad? Well it is certainly probable from an outsider’s perspective, but no one will ever know.

iPad 3 Release Date Rumors Have Hinted at September 2011

With the iPad 2 officially launched, and currently on back order we are wondering if consumers will start to delay their purchase of an ipad 2; once speculation starts swirling that we may see a September 2011 release date for the iPad 3.
