More information (rumor) is leaking out pointing to the iPad 3 release happening in March of 2012. Macotakara, which is a Japanese blog has recently reported that we’ll see the iPad 3 and iOS 5.1 put on display, or unveiled via an event if you will as early as the first couple weeks in February.
The news has reportedly come from two different insiders, one from the United States and the other from within Apple’s Asian supply chain which would obviously be close to preparation and planning behind the unveiling and then full-scale shipments on the tablets launch date.

This latest iPad 3 rumor comes from China’s Economic Daily News, and suggests that the tablet could be released on February 24 to commemorate Steve Jobs, since this date is also his birthday. Suppliers are reportedly doing the best they can to ramp up production in an effort to have the tablet fully ready and in the quantities needed by Apple.
Inside sources are claiming that Apple is looking to meet demand with an initial supply of 4 million units, which is up from roughly 3.5M last year for the iPad 2. Will 4 million be enough, considering the heavy backorders for the iPad 2 on its release however?

According to a recent report at Digitimes, the iPad 3 is just a few months away from gracing the tablet world. The proposed scaling back of iPad 2 production at the beginning of 2012 is a clear indication that the next-generation device is going to see a Q1 release.
The iPad 3 is expected to be released in the next 3 to 4 months while component makers in the supply chain are already delivering parts for the Apple iPad 3 to OEM contractors; said the inside sources.
“OEM production of iPad 2 will remain at 14-15 million units in the fourth quarter of 2011 but decline to 4-5 million units in the first quarter of 2012, paving the way for the launch of the new iPads.”

With fans loving the integration of Siri on the iPhone 4S, they are beginning to wonder if the iPad 3 will be getting the voice command feature as well. Apple has done some testing behind the scenes to see if the iPhone 4 would run the program and indeed it did.
Just don’t expect Apple to be releasing Siri for public use on older devices. Offering the program on only new iOS devices means that Apple can generate more sales on their new releases; and who can blame them?

The iPad 3 is certainly under development and new reports have emerged that the refreshed tablet has prototypes internally circulating Apple’s supply chain. The iPad 3 release date is still on track for early 2012, as rumors of a release this year have seemingly dried up.
Apple is apparently in no rush to get the iPad 3 out the door; not only because they perfect their products before they release them to the public, but also because they don’t see any other competing tablet that has successfully been a contender or even a hot selling second choice.

Looking to compete with Apple’s iPad and more importantly, the upcoming iPad 3; Amazon could reportedly be introducing a tablet as early as this October. That tablet is rumored to be offered at a price around $300 or lower.
Rumors have been relatively quiet about Amazon’s tablet plans, and you may remember when they first started back in May about the code name “Hollywood” tablet aiming to best the iPad 3 before it even releases.

Apple is currently working with its component suppliers for the iPad 3 to go under trial production starting in October. According to sources the company has started to order components such as display panels, and chips for the imminent early 2012 release date.
Even though a lot of people have been hoping for another refresh later this year, it appears those rumors may have started to fizzle out. Apple’s extremely popular iPad and other devices are without a doubt worth waiting for and hard to compete with. In the last few days you may be aware of HP throwing in the towel on their HP TouchPad that was just recently launched.

Suppliers in China are offering some insight into the iPad 3 and its high resolution retina display. Apple has apparently been putting some extreme pressures on its suppliers for the specs it wants to achieve and the time frame they want to achieve them in.
Current rumors are putting the iPad 3 screen at 9.7″ and 2048 x 1536 resolution. To put those stats into perspective that’s going to be four times more powerful than the iPad 2 display and a staggering three times more powerful than the current Android HD displays..

According to our poll thus far, our readers would love the iPad 3 to have a USB port or two; with retina display and flash capabilities not too far behind. Don’t get your hopes up for flash inclusion because it has been repeated over and over that Jobs doesn’t really want to support it.
Those who were hoping to get their iPad 3 this year and still have the new A6 processor are probably out of luck too since it is set to launch in 2012. According to Taiwan Economic News, TSMC has started trial production on the A6 processor for Apple.

During a recent earnings call, Apple claimed that they have no plans to release an iPad 3 in 2011. If you’ve been getting excited about all the rumors lately, then this may be something you don’t particularly care to hear.
Apple quickly dismissed the iPad 3‘s release in 2011 when they were asked about its plans; declaring the iPad 2 as a current success. With the iPad 2 selling extremely well, Apple stated that they want to see how the market plays out over the next several years.
What does that mean for Apple and their direction? What about the iPad 3?
It is our opinion that they are trying to take some of the hype and rumors off of the iPad 3 because they are stuck in a tough spot. Although the iPad 2 is selling extremely well, there are still a lot of laggards who are debating holding onto their original iPad in hopes of a dream machine! (the iPad 3).

Anonymous Sources Respond to iPad 3 Rumors
A recent article published by digitimes talks about upstream component vendors and their response to a 2011 release date for the iPad 3. Rumors have been suggesting that Apple is looking to equip the iPad 3 with an AMOLED panel or full HD resolution support; as we noted with our news about Apple sourcing from Samsung.
They believe that this could be a potentially high risk move by allowing a competitor (Samsung) to control one of the key components of its device. However, Samsung stands to gain from this relationship as well, because their sales for display technology would increase significantly.
What are the vendors saying?
