A single Sina Weibo user was pointed out by Macrumors who posted the expected cost permiums of the iPad 3 over the iPad 2S now on the market. You can see the image after the break. If this is true, it would be the first time for the fruit company to deviate from the original pricing pattern. However, there is a question to why Chinese locals would have U.S prices.

We heard last month that Apple was planning to open a retail store in London’s Harrods department store. The store is a landmark that contains many individual shops and sections within greater structure. There are many big brands located there which makes it a perfect spot for Apple to continue the string of “store-in-store” locations. We have news from the sources inside Harrods who inform that the plan will be implemented in Mid-March. Details below!

A recent report by Cult of Mac shows leaked images straight from the inside of the Apple iPad 3 supply chain. Upon investigation, the images show that the internals of the new refresh has significant changes when compared to both the first generation and second generation tablet.
Amongst the leaked images, is the rear case for the iPad 3 which is not yet branded with the new name; but further suggests that little has been done to modify the aesthetics and exterior of the device. With that said, do you feel that the overall design of the iPad is perfect anyway, and Apple shouldn’t fix something that isn’t broken?

A new report on the iPad 3 over at BGR shows how they have been supplied with and uncovered what appear to be legitimate images leaking details of the processor and other classified specs. An inside source has alleged that they have an iPad 3 prototype in their possession and through the use of iBoot, have uncovered two models of the new tablet as well as a conclusion that this tablet is going to be a multi-taskers dream.
iBoot is a tool used by developers and is able to look at strings of code. As we reported in the past, the code references the J1 and the J2, or the iPad 3,1 and the iPad 3,2. One of the greatest discoveries is that one of the two versions of the Apple iPad 3 will likely support 4G LTE. Further icing to the cake shows that

The iPad 3 could be seeing a quad-core A5 processor rather than the A6 if analysts are to be believed. With the recent unveiling of iBooks 2 and specifically iBooks textbooks for the Apple iPad, onlookers saw a more intuitive full-screen, rich media experience that involved interaction, graphs, and animations not to mention the rest that comes with this news.
After testing the iBooks 2 Textbook application on the iPad and iPad 2, developers are claiming that the iPad was a bit slow and sluggish, while the iPad 2 seemed to run it fine. Increased interactions and animations could prove to be a challenge for the iPad 2 as well however. This is where analysts believe the iPad 3 is going to need a more powerful processor, the upgraded A5 (A6 first seen in the iPhone 5?). to support the increased load, especially if it’s going to launch with the high resolution display everyone is counting on.

We’ve been talking a lot about Siri on the iPad 3 lately, and with the release of iOS 5.1 beta 3 to developers it appears more evident that we could indeed see Siri on the tablet. The new beta code doesn’t provide very much insight into the future of Apple devices, but 9to5mac uncovered “something potentially major.”
The code shows Siri Dictation references, and upon shuffling around the new beta 3 settings application shows a completely new section in the keyboard menu labeled “About Privacy and Dictation.” This discovery was made on an iPad 2 and upon opening the menu command; it brings up a screen with legal jargon and feature information for Apple’s Siri Dictation.

We hear it all the time; Apple is going to have competition from this tablet, and then that one. Is the iPad 3 going to be brushing up against some real threats or is all of this just going to fall flat like past assumptions?
We wanted to take a minute and talk about what is going to differentiate the iPad 3 (spec-wise) from the iPad 2 and a possible pricing hierarchy that Apple is rumored to be looking at to fire back at all the end of the 2011 competition along with all of the upcoming tablets that will flood the market in 2012.
At this time the biggest improvement to the iPad 3 is expected to be in its display. The rumored display is going to be Apple’s patented Retina Display, running at a resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels which would be four times as powerful as the iPad 2. Bye bye up close and visible pixilation.

The iPad 3 was seen referenced by the identifier iPad 3,1 iPad 3,2 and iPad 3,3; yes that’s right – there are apparently three variations of the tablet in the pipeline. Apple may have a few different things up their sleeves as they continue to work with prototypes; however these three monikers are likely the final ones to be rolled out since they are embedded within the iOS 5.1 beta code.
This also may be a true indication that the next refresh will indeed be named the iPad 3 rather than the iPad 2S like previous rumors suggested. At this time the three different references are believed to be the Wi-Fi tablet, 3G, 4G, or even the possibility of getting a dual-mode iPad 3.

After the recent news regarding the difficulties with getting the beloved retina display at the required resolution into the iPad 3 at a reasonable cost, more rumors are surfacing depicting two iPad models in 2012.
It is currently unclear whether or not Apple will be able to equip the iPad 3 with an A6 Processor and a retina display in time for the usual Q1 official launch. This has led some speculation that the iPad 3 could be pushed back as far as Mid 2012.

The latest iPad 3 rumor, in a string of many regarding the A6 processor, appears to be that Apple hasn’t counted Samsung out yet as their supplier for the next generation iPad and iPhone chips – which will be released in 2012.
Asking to remain anonymous, an industry source (executive for an Apple parts supplier in Korea) said that “Apple has been in talks with Samsung over shipment of its A6 quad core chips.” In his statement he refers to the mobile A6 which is rumored to be included in the next iPhone.

According to a financial analyst, Jeff Fidacaro, the iPad 3 has begun its first production run. Apple has been in the news nonstop as of late with the death of their beloved icon Steve Jobs, the release of iOS 5 (despite its headaches at the moment), iCloud, and today the releasing of the iPhone 4S.
Where has Fidacaro derived the information from that the iPad 3 has entered into production? After looking at Apple’s supply chain checks, iPad builds are up to 12 and 14-million compared to previous numbers at 11 and 13-million.

There’s a rumor floating around that the iPad 3 may be getting curved glass to cover its anticipated refreshed display. Some devices already jumped onto the curved glass trend like the Google Nexus S which is attributed to Apple’s corrupted business relationship partner – Samsung.
You may also recall that the fifth generation iPod nano also sports a curved glass screen as well. But, does this make sense for the iPad 3? The main idea behind the curved glass on smartphone’s is to allow for better call comfort with the phone against your face.

According to reports, Apple has opened an iPad factory in Brazil. There has been a ton of rumors and news on iPad 3 production; and the addition of TSMC, and the dispute for Foxconn to reign supreme as Apple’s lone supplier.
This report focuses more on Apple’s reach with their tablet and how they will be able to fully supply the growing demand for their product in Brazil. Aloizio Mercadante who is Brazil’s Minister of Science and technology went on to confirm that the plant is set to begin production on the iPad, and officially shipping in the country sometime in December of 2011.
The new factory will likely start producing the Apple iPad 2 initially for December, but as a manufacturer they will likely be able to supply native consumers with the iPad 3 at some decided upon date in the future as well.

The iPad 3 battery is apparently going to cost Apple an additional 20 to 30 percent more than the current price of the iPad 2 battery. Simplo Technology and Dynapack International Technology will be responsible for the production of the batteries and are already contracted for battery packs in the existing iPad’s and Macbook.
Also noted by Taiwan Economic News, the iPad 3 battery packs will produce a longer service life than the current 10 hours experienced by both the iPad and the iPad 2. The iPad 2 battery was certainly upgraded to run the boosted specs from the original iPad; and it looks like battery technology is becoming more and more important as consumers demand better processors, displays and thinner designs. What good is a fantastic on-the-go device that needs to be plugged into the wall 24/7?

According to some staggering numbers, companies are really going after the iPad 3 market shares; and so much so that analysts have predicted that there may be too large of a surplus of competing tablets creating lack of demand.
Where is that lack of demand expected to come from? Yeah like you probably guessed, from all the competitors. The lack of demand will likely create price wars amongst (to name a few) Asus, HP, Motorola and maybe even the still under wraps Amazon tablet rumored to be a direct threat towards Apple and their iPad 3.

It’s Monday which some of you may be dreading but we have more news on the iPad 3 for you. If you took the plunge and bought the iPad 2 you may have been pretty unhappy that it didn’t have that many significant upgrades over the original iPad, especially the display.

Recently released over at macmagazine, these iPad 3 photos are the latest concepts, and are done very well. Will this be the coveted iPad 3 or iPad HD in the near future? No word on that yet but I’m sure you will love these mock-ups with clearly depicted new features we could see on the refreshed tablet.
Macmagazine was also the source of a very on par iPhone 4 prototype before the devices official release, meaning these could hold some true merit of what your future iPad 3 may look like. It has that new fresh feel to it like the iPhone 4 did, and what will be equally as impressive is the display and hardware tucked inside.
