The iPad 3 is in certification, and one thing we can count on is that it will receive a speed boost.  iCloud was recently confirmed at the WWDC which will free up storage issues and there are rumors that Apple is going to use a highly improved A5 processor in the iPhone 5 or iPad 3.

A report in Microprocessor says that the A5 is Apple’s first processor that currently jumps out ahead of the pack when it comes to competition, but yet it comes with a steep cost.  They also stated that the processor design choice will affect the way it rolls out its new products in the 2011 schedule as well as any beyond that.

The A5 which is rumored to grace the iPhone 5 come time for its release date may have to be tweaked in order to account for its heat output.  An iPad case is Read the rest of this entry

OmniVision Sensor May Be Used in Apple’s iPad 3

The iPad 3 looks like it will be getting a huge camera makeover if the new Omnivision sensor is included in the tablet.

OmniVision Technologies, Inc. recently introduced the OV5690; or the first 5 megapixel image sensor which will be using OmniVision’s unique OmniBSI-2 Read the rest of this entry

Resolution and Screen rumors for the iPad 3 may be aligning with Samsungs announcement of a 10.1 inch LCD display boasting 300 dpi.  At least that’s what current rumors are suggesting.

This screen would be able to run at a WQXGA resolution of 2560 x 1600!  That’s pretty impressive and currently a record amongst tablets, which is set to reach the market later this year.

To put this screen in to perspective, it’s running at a resolution that is twice as great as others on the market right now.  The screen uses Samsung’s PenTile technology which allows it to generate white colors using single white pixels instead of multiple colored ones.

The end result is a much brighter display that consumes Read the rest of this entry

iPad 3 to include glasses free 3D screen

The latest iPad 3 rumors are suggesting that Apple will include glasses free 3D capabilities into the iPad 3, but we’re not buying it quite yet.  We want to provide our readers with all the news we get about the iPad 3, but we also want to make sure they aren’t bogus.

Instead of calling it the iPad 3, Apple could unveil the iPad3D which would be pretty fitting considering it’s the third generation right?  Let’s stop for a second though and really think about how many users would want it versus how many would hate it.

The Nintendo 3DS, while was a good idea to appeal to their targeted age group; still fell short of anything spectacular.  Other tablets are investing in the technology but it doesn’t seem worth Apples troubles and increased costs.  Would you want 3D on your iPad 3? Read the rest of this entry

iPad 3 To Include An Intel A6 Processor?

Apple has had a long lasting relationship with Samsung Electronics while they have manufactured all of Apple’s iOS device processors.  New reports are suggesting however that Samsung has become too big of a rival and that both Apple and Intel would benefit from each other’s competitive advantages.

There is also currently a civil law suit pending between Apple and Samsung which  suggests another reason why Apple may be looking to get its A6 and future processors manufactured by another company altogether.  Could this transition happen before the iPad 3 release date?  We think that would be a long stretch since product development occurs long before the actual product is released.

While Intel isn’t known in the foundry business, they do already supply Apple with the x86 processors for Read the rest of this entry

iPad 3 Design and an iPad 4G LTE

The team here at iPad3newsblog was salivating when the recent rumors about retina display and carbon fiber casings surfaced.  We really enjoy the iPhone 4′s screen which is currently using retina display and would love to see it integrated into the iPad 3.

Carbon fiber would not only be a great way to enhance durability and decrease weight, but something that we are truly fond of as well.  The best part about carbon fiber is that it can be painted to suit the needs of people who do not like its natural styling.

The iPad 3 (should it incorporate carbon fiber) would cater to those who enjoy a solid black, white or other color as well as the carbon fiber lovers too!  We think that’s a win for everyone, especially since Apple fans can Read the rest of this entry

iPad 3 Could Rival Mainstream Desktops

In a past article we talked about sourcing from Samsung to obtain greater resolution for the iPad 3 display.  Well recently, a Samsung rep revealed that they are in the process of developing a 2GHz dual core processor.

This doesn’t seem like any big deal except for the fact that this CPU is being developed for a smartphone!  The phone would have the potential for 4GHz worth of data processing and unmatched speed amongst its competitors, since those numbers can compete with most mainstream desktops currently on the market.

Here’s where it gets exciting for Apple fans and those waiting for the iPad 3! Read the rest of this entry

iPad 3 could see smart bezel technology!

We’ve come across another patent to bring to our readers eyes.  This patent suggests a feature that has been rumored for past Apple devices, but something that we have yet to see actually released.  This would open up a plethora of new options for the iPad 3.

Our team continually finds prototypes of an iPad 3 with an edge to edge screen which would eliminate the outer bezel area.  Apple could benefit from a larger area for the screen in order to easily expand their current display (pixels per inch); but it looks like they already have that covered by sourcing from Samsung’s retina display technology.

iPad 3 Rumors: Sony 8MP Camera & The iPad 3

Sony 8MP camera and the iPad 3/iPhone 5 has the web buzzing

The CEO of Sony, Sir Howard Stringer, let some news out that he would be working with Apple to develop a vastly improved camera for their devices.

Our speculations here at ipad3newsblog held true about shortages of output coming from Japanese factories after last month’s devastating tsunami.

Stringer said that any manufacturer who sourced sensors or lenses from the affected factories in Japan could expect a delay.

This is the very reason why Read the rest of this entry

iPad 3 Rumors: A5 or A6 Processor? (specs)

What Will Be Powering The iPad 3

Since John Gruber, a respected Apple watcher and predictor re-affirmed rumors of a September 2011 release date for the iPad 3 (by making strong hints); we’ve been keeping you up to date with exactly what’s being speculated.

Gruber hinted that HP’s TouchPad is slated for a summer release which would put them well behind the iPad 2 launch, and that they may even be competing with the release of the iPad 3!  Competing isn’t the likely term to use we feel since the HP TouchPad would be collecting dust on the shelves if it were to have a similar release date.
